THE SLEEPERS

LIVE BRIEF COMPETITION

 

This piece of work was part of a live illustration brief for the MA Creative writing students of Bath Spa.This is one of many illustrations I created for the brief, but this one had really stood out to me. These two illustrations were based upon a short story written by Beatrice Wallbank, called 'The Sleepers'. It was later picked out as one of the illustrations to be published in their creative writing anthology 'Paper worlds'!

 

STORY SUMMARY

On a remote Welsh island ancient legends are stirring -stones begin to whisper and walk, and two children must pull together to save both themselves and the island from the highest tide.
